Youth welcomed at Tourism & Business Exhibition
The English Riviera Tourism and Business Exhibition held in March has been hailed a success with visitor numbers up on the last 3 years.
The visitors were primarily accommodation providers; however considerations are being undertaken to open up the exhibition to include public visitors in 2013.
Attendance at the exhibition also included the progressive young people’s charity; Young Devon. Young Devon aims to challenge negative stereotypes of young people, enhance lives and promote opportunities for those least likely to have their voices heard. Zoe Payne the Development Worker for Young Devon said “This exhibition has been a fantastic opportunity to open up the groups eyes to wide variety of activities and attractions on their doorstep. We have been made very welcome and are already eager to attend the next exhibition in 2013.”
The exhibition, now in its 4th year, was organised and hosted by the Riviera International Centre and attracted over 300 visitors throughout the day. Operations Manager; Jenny Thompson said “we are delighted to organise this event on behalf of the tourism industry and are pleased with the very positive feedback we have since received from both visitors and delegates.”
She added: “As a passionate ambassador for the hospitality and tourism industry it was great to welcome the group from Young Devon. I hope the exhibition inspired them to the range of businesses and career opportunities in the industry”.
