Riviera Centre cools down in January
In the early hours of the 8th January a new air cooled water chiller was hoisted onto the roof of the Riviera International Conference Centre (RICC) as part of an ongoing Capital Investment Programme.
The chiller unit is an integral component of a new air conditioning system and was installed onto a specially made steel structure on their flat roof.
The installation of the chiller unit took more than 6 hours and required the use of a 250 ton crane which was transported from Italy.
The Riviera Centre’s Capital Programme involves essential maintenance repairs that will make significant reductions to their overall running costs. The next step of the programme will see the replacement of the boilers, chillers and poolside air handling units which were installed over 26 years ago and have now become unreliable.
