Love it don't leave it
The Bay Brasserie, located within the Riviera International Centre, has teamed up with the Torbay Council in a new initiative aimed at cutting down on food waste.
As part of the Love it, don’t leave it campaign Torbay Council are supplying pubs, restaurants and cafes with biodegradable waxed cardboard food containers to encourage diners to take their leftovers home to eat later.
"We believe it is good for businesses as it cuts down on the amount of food waste, said Carol Arthur, Recycling Officer at Torbay Council, "thereby reducing the businesses' disposal costs.
"It is also good for customers, who can take home to enjoy the food they have paid for but have been unable to finish when they are eating out."
A range of eye-catching promotional materials with the message 'Love it, don't leave it' is available to other businesses who want to sign up to the scheme - the first 100 businesses that sign up will get all the containers and marketing materials free of charge.
