
Live bands set to rock the Riviera Centre
An eclectic range of local bands are set to take centre stage at the Riviera Centre on Sunday 28th August. The marathon 7 hour live concert called Riviera Rocks, in association with Riviera fm, will enable spectators a rare opportunity to experience the extensive variety of local talent in and around Torbay.
Riviera Rocks will feature a variety of live bands including Sophie Victoria, Temporary Mind, INwaterlight, Emerald Hill, James Rowley, Stone Angels, Paper Anchor, Six Claw Paw, Aurora Skies and Chasing Hollywood.
Other acts include; Jasmine Homes. Jasmine was born in Devon and recorded her album at the Taunton studio. She performs regularly with her band in venues across the country and has nearly 80 songs in her catalogue. In addition MIG; winners of the Abel Music Battle of the Bands competition in Torbay in 2009 will also be performing. MIG draw on a diverse range of influences from Led Zeppelin through to Funkadelic and Public Enemy. Their music blends hard rock riffing, socio-political rap, blues and funk, all crafted with a classic rock sensibility.
“If you love live music this is the event for you, said Jenny Thompson, Operations Manager at the Riviera Centre. “The day promises to be a festival of local talent, with bands giving their best performance live on stage.”
The event is in support of the Radio Devon Air Ambulance Appeal and will take place from 4pm until 11pm. Attendees are invited to either drop in and out as they please or stay the whole day. All ages are welcome and food and drink will be available.
