Freedom is coming
Big Noise Chorus, Stagecoach Torquay, and the Exeter Group of Amnesty International have come together to stage a bumper Summer concert “Freedom is Coming” in celebration of Amnesty International’s 50 years of human rights activism – our most ambitious fundraising and awareness raising event ever. Tom Hedley the Chairman of Amnesty International UK will give a brief but inspirational talk on 50 years of human rights achievement. Tom Hedley commented “For 50 years Amnesty International has been making a big noise about human rights abuses and now it’s time for the Big Noise to return the favour.”
The concert will take place at the Riviera International Conference Centre in Torquay on Saturday 23rd July. Doors open at 6:30pm for a 7:30pm start ending at 10:00 pm. Ticket cost is £9.50 no concessions, booking fee included. Parking is available and there is disabled access.
Big Noise Chorus is a 200+ choir which exploded into Devon 2 years ago and is making a huge splash with its vibrant and energetic concerts including rock, pop, soul and world music. So far, the choir has raised over £10,000 for various charities. “We have something for virtually all musical tastes,” says Colin Rea, choir director, “other performers include Stagecoach Theatre Arts choir and dance troupe as well as a rock band and string quartet. It promises to be a hugely uplifting night for the whole family. And all proceeds go to such a wonderful cause.”
With almost 400 performers on the night this event is likely to raise the roof.
