Afternoon tea fit for Royalty
English flags will be flying high at Torquay restaurant the Bay Brasserie this Friday as they mark the occasion of Prince William’s and Catherine’s Royal wedding with recession busting buy one get one free promotions on their Full English Breakfasts and English Cream Teas, available from 9am until 4pm.
“What makes the Brasserie’s homemade scones so special is that they are freshly baked on the premises, said Steve Pask Head Chef “and they are also prepared using local ingredients whenever possible.”
The best way to eat a cream tea has been highly disputed over the years between Devon and Cornwall. The Bay Brasserie serves their scones with a fresh pot of clotted cream and jam on the side so the choice whether to spread the jam on top of the cream or the cream on top of the jam is for you to decide!
To round off this patriotic day the Bay Brasserie will be holding an English Theme Night inspired by traditional English cuisine. The 3-course menu encapsulates quintessentially English dishes accompanied by English music and decorations for £16 pp. Dishes include Salmon Balmoral; a fillet of salmon garnished with prawns, set on fresh herb tatties, served with a drambuie cream sauce and East End Mixed Grill; lamb cutlet, calves liver, bacon & black pudding, with grilled tomatoes & mushrooms in a rich brown windsor sauce, both served with a selection of seasonal vegetables.
“Friday 29th April 2011 will be a date to go down in history, said Simon Jolly, Conference & Events Manager, “and what better way to celebrate than to raise a glass with friends and family whilst enjoying sumptuous English food.
