Aerobathon raises over £1,000 for Rowcroft
A Charity Aerobathon which took place at The Riviera Centre on Saturday 21st July has raised a significant £1,124 for Rowcroft Hospice.
“Rowcroft Hospice provide comfort, support and a range of specialist services to care for 2000 patients with life limiting illnesses every year across South Devon. More than 70% of our funding comes from the incredible generosity of local people and we use every single penny of it to help make every day the best day possible for our patients and their loved ones” says Lara Tollast, Marketing and Communications Manager at Rowcroft.
The Aerobathon took place from 9.30am – 11.30am in the Arena with non-stop 2 hour workouts including Zumba, Aerobics, Boxercise and a press up challenge among others.
The registration fee was £5, however participants each raised significantly more than that with the incentive that 100% of the proceeds would be donated to the Rowcroft Hospice.
“It was a fantastic event with so many Lifestyle Members taking part. Ranee Read and Bridget Rowland, Lifestyle Members both worked extremely hard organising the event” said Colin Pemberton, Lifestyle Manager.
The fantastic amount raised was presented to Rosey Oakes, Community and Corporate Fundraising Manger in the Health and Fitness Suite at the Riviera Centre who was overwhelmed by the amount raised.
Ranee and Bridget have now started working on their next charity event, the MacMillan Coffee Morning. The event will be taking place on Friday 28th September from 10.00am – 12.30pm in the Aqua Lounge at the Riviera Centre, more details can be found here; http://www.rivieracentre.co.uk/events/detail/macmillan-coffee-morning-2. Anyone can come and support the event, just pop in for a coffee and delicious slice of cake.
